Zero Waste Zones are areas within the urban fabric that delimit zones to address urban environmental degradation, increase social cohesion and mobility, through which conditions are created to reduce the carbonate and environmental footprint of the area, in order to achieve zero impact on the environment.

Zero Waste Zones create new, free areas, easily accessible to all citizens, which will meet all the conditions for:

• The improvement sustainable urban mobility
• The encouragement social cohesion and cooperation
• The promotion of sustainable production and consumption
• Strengthening integrated waste management and developing the appropriate infrastructure to achieve it
• The protection of biodiversity within the urban fabric
• The reduction of air pollution and carbon footprint, as well as noise.
• Τhe involvement of the interesting parts and the development of a new model of governance
• The correct redistribution of off-road vehicles and unimpeded access by citizens by other means
• The adoption of flexible solutions, so that the zones can change use or return to their previous form, if necessary.
